What supplies should a 1st grade teacher buy?

...Aside from pencils, paper clips, and paper. Can a teacher give me a list of general supplies he or she bought? Im not talking about books and bulletin board decorations. Im referring to core supplies that students and teachers will need during summer school. I have a budget of $150 but wasnt given a list of suggestions. What should I buy from Office Depot or Staples?
Thanks for the great ideas! I have an English Language Learners class this summer. The teachers will have their meeting this coming Monday, but the supplies sheet is due tomorrow. I have to tell them what Im buying for the class.

Great question. I would start with some books (about 4 copies of each) in both fiction and non-fiction picture books across the curricular disciplines so that everyone has a chance to read the same books and talk about them. I'd stay away from worksheets of any kind. You need crayons, paints, craft items. If you're working on math then math manipulatives. I would focus on education stores rather than Office Depot or Staples. $150 isn't much but depends on the number of students you have. You also didn't tell us if this is remedial or a year round school or just summer enrichment opportunities. Also you probably have a focus for the summer curriculum that info. would give us more ideas. I guess I was thinking that you would be working on reading and writing and math...not sure though.

Hope this helps. Also, do you have a list of what the 1st grade teachers thought was import. for the fall? That might clue you in on some other items.
