Home schooling your children? Is art part of your curriculum planning?

Including art in your daily lesson plans will ensure the best education for your kids
When I say good art I am not talking about the standard traditional arts and crafts that is done in so many preschool and kindergarten classrooms all over the world. If you are doing Kids Crafts then hopefully you are already doing crafts with your kids that does not make them into robots.

It is a s a result of classroom teachers lack of understanding of art for children, that causes them to resort to the same copycat crafts for kids.
But this can’t be what you want. Parents that choose home schooling over tradtional schooling are doing it because they want more for their kids
I'm sure if you knew that by following cookie cutter directions in making projects, it would turn them into robots, you would not want that for your children. Am I right?
What I’m really talking about here is not only good crafts for kids but real art that often gets lost in the shuffle.
That's too bad because art adds such depth to any curriculum that it would be a crying shame as you are at home and are able to give such great activities to your children .
Art is wonderful and exciting and adds great skills. Here are five good skills that art adds to any curriculum
1.    Art  will help build physical coordination- Art is good for both gross motor coordination AND fine motor coordination. Gross motor skills and fine motor skills when using their large and fine muscles in activities like cutting, painting, coloring and drawing.
2.    Emotional development is addressed-. Pounding on clay is better than pounding on a sibling, as is coloring furiously better than pinching. When children have art to use at their will, they can work through traumas like family death and fires much more easily
3.   Intellectual development can be tied in- Children learn to make sense of their world as they use art to count, classify, sort, make their own decisions and learn to follow directions without doing cookie cutter art.
4.    Creativity is tremedously affected-Of course children's creativity takes a flying leap if they are allowed to do art that allows them to create at their own level, which allows them to be creative in more ways than one
5.    Integrating curriculum happens naturally- And last but not least art in a home schooling curriculum can help integrate the curriculum and help them learn. By adding art into the childrren's curriculum at home and accessing their five senses, the more their curriculum will stay with them for life.

Spending time on solving online puzzles could be seen as a blade with two sharp sides. It is true that online games help the brain development, thus determining young persons learn new skills and improve their abilities. On the other hand, such games can easily become addictive and make kids more violent.

The easiest accessible games are the ones that can be played online for free. Built in Adobe Macromedia Flash, such games load very fast, require less memory, so they are suitable even for cheaper machines.

Before managing to launch the games, you'll need to acquire some extra addon programs which make it possible to play straight in Internet Explorer, without having to launch the games from your hard drive. Some games can only start in specific browsers and do not work in others.

In case of having kids to play online games, you need to establish clear rules of behavior. For instance, limit the time they are allowed to play each day. Take a look at the type of games they prefer. Action games can be so violent, so you might want to be informed on the best games for each age.

Denying children access to computer games may have negative implications. Computer helps developing mental and craft skills, so it's all right to permit children use the computer even at young age. You ought to pay attention to their actions as a parent.

Repetitive games like Tetris or Pac-Man may not be interesting for grown-ups, but teenagers will waste a lot of time in playing them over and over again. Sport and action games can be played at any age. Complicated first person stories are also enjoyed by adults, as well as by their kids.

Modern aviation training implies replicating flight situations on simulating machines. Such big flying games are the exact copy of the plane dashboard, in order to make setting the pilot familiar with flying the plane without endangering the passengers. This is how computer games managed to prove useful even for serious trades.
