What high school did you attend back in the day? What am I saying; you may be in high school right now? High school is a funny thing. Some folks love it like it's the highlight of their existence, and other people think it's terrible. What was your take on the high school years? I am not going to sugar coat it. High school in general was no great thing for me. I wasn't the all-star jock/prom king, nor was I the zit-faced geek. I was just another student in the madness of confusion. You know how it goes. You're there five days a week and you're doing your thing, but it's more of a mundane routine than anything else. It's kind of like I was always waiting for something to happen. Something that would make a difference in my lame lifestyle. Then of course it did. It was called graduation. I'm sure many people can relate. Anyway, one thing you have to consider when you send your kids off to high school is the quality. I am referring to the quality of the school's education system. I like to keep an eye on a certain website that divulges high schools ranked. It's good to know which high schools are considered ideal, and which ones are falling way behind. I think it's sad that certain high schools ranked so low as far as standard education goes. You may even be amazed to know which ones are doing well and which ones are lagging behind. I was speaking to my younger brother about this issue and he laughed when I became concerned. He, however, does not have any children. Therefore I seriously doubt he is concerned with high schools ranked good or bad. It's primarily an issue for parents. The main reason I became so concerned is because I am searching for a different place to live. Now, I don't just want a nice home in a safe neighborhood. I also want the local high schools ranked well. Think about this for a moment. You surely want your child to get a wonderful education that prepares him/her for college. Private Boarding Schools

One thing I have never understood is boarding private schools. I know there are great schools out there, and there are many parents who want their children to get the best education they can get, but I wonder about the wisdom of being separated from your children for long stretches of time. While I don?t think children should be coddled or anything like that, I do think they benefit from the security of their families. Is a child who is sent away to boarding private schools lonely and independent at too young of an age?

There are many great advantages to sending your child to a school like this, but you do have to have the money to do so. Many families don?t, and I think this is why they are not nearly as common as regular private schools. When you send your child to boarding private schools, they stay there much of the school year, but come home for breaks, much like a college student. I?m not sure a child under 18 is ready for that, and I don?t know if that?s the best thing for them, even if they are getting a great education. There are other places to get the same learning, and you don?t have to miss your child so much, and you don?t have to worry that the boarding private school is instilling values in your child that you might not like.

A child can learn a lot from boarding private schools, and much of that has nothing to do with education. They are probably getting the best from their teachers, but are they learning that their parents are not there for them? Are they learning that they have to be independent when they are not emotionally ready to do so? Those are questions that each parents has to answer when they decide to send their child to such a school. I?m not sure anyone knows the answers, but they are things to consider.

If you really want to send your child to boarding private schools, you should be aware that you may have to send them far from home. That means that if something goes wrong that you might not be able to be there for them. They may learn to think they can rely only on themselves, and you have to decide if that is a good lesson. Independence is great, but humans are meant to live in families, and it is good to know that our family is there. Make sure you strike a good balance if you send them for this education, and make every moment you are together count.

Graduate Schools

It's almost imperative these days to acquire a higher education of some sort. Some folks do this by attending a four-year University, and others try the local community college for a two-year degree program. Both can prove very beneficial, depending on your field of interest. But, as time moves on and the competition increases, you may want to consider that next step on the education ladder. The one that will set you apart from the masses, and put you ahead of the general competition. It may indeed be time to think about grad schools. By getting your master's in business administration, you're truly setting yourself up for a great future.

Ah, the college days. So many of us yearn for them at one point, but down the road they tend to get a bit tiring. It could be all that senseless partying. Naa, who am I kidding? It's definitely not that. It more likely concerns all the homework and studying for exams. I certainly got my share of that mess. But, what about the students that move on to grad schools? They have another two years ahead of them. Is this really worth the effort? Well, from what I've seen, it definitely is. This way you won't just graduate with a bachelor's degree, but you'll also have a master's under your belt as well. This can be an awesome certificate to have when heading out into the work-force. When companies interview potential employees, who haven't yet worked in the field, they're naturally looking at their academic accomplishments. Therefore it's much better to see a bachelor's and master's degree, rather than just an undergrad. Suddenly your pay scale goes up. Individuals starting with a higher education are definitely going to get offered a higher salary. It just makes sense.

If you're considering grad schools after you achieve your BA or BS, you may want to continue without a break. I've watched quite a few peers do this and come out of college at a young age with a fat education under their belt. You won't have to worry about heading back to grad schools later down the road. You can simply focus on your career goals and moving up in the work-force. To earn more and move up faster, you need that extra edge. Think grad school.
